HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
Active
Monitoring
Active
monitoring is concerned with ensuring workplace precautions
and risk control systems stay in place. This type of
monitoring is proactive, to help reduce the risk of
an accident happening.
Workplace
Precautions
At
EKO we have taken action to reduce identified risks
to an acceptable level. This includes the use of machinery
guards and personal protective equipment.
Risk
Control Systems
These
systems ensure workplace precautions stay in place.
For example, this may include correct training in the
use of personal protective equipment, which makes the
workplace precaution effective.
Further
information can be found in our Risk Assessments section
and our Records section.
Reactive
Monitoring
Reactive
Monitoring involves looking at past events and using
this information to reduce risks. This includes reporting,
recording and analysing loss data such as injuries,
accidents and ill health. Reactive Monitoring helps
with Health and Safety in two ways:
| *
|
Trend
analysis shows whether losses such as accidents and
injuries are decreasing or increasing. This helps to
monitor and improve safety measures.
|
| *
|
Investigations
of accidents help us to learn what went wrong and to
rectify any potential risks for the future.
